Peanut Blossoms Cookies
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. peanut butter
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. light brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt

- 1 (9 oz.) pkg. chocolate kisses
- Cream together shortening and peanut butter; add sugar and brown sugar.
- Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, blending thoroughly.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet; bake in preheated 375u0b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Remove from oven; immediately place unwrapped kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down so that the cookie cracks around the edge.
- Remove from cookie sheet; cool. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
