Great Grandma'S Green Tomato Sweet Relish

  1. Grind vegetables coarsely together.
  2. Put in colander and drain.
  3. Put in a bowl and add canning salt.
  4. Let stand 1/2 hour. Drain again; put in kettle.
  5. Add 1/2 pint (8 ounces) of water and 1/2 pint white vinegar.
  6. Cook 8 minutes.
  7. Stir so it won't scorch. Drain again; put back in kettle.
  8. Add 1 pint white vinegar and 1 pint of water.
  9. Bring to boil, then add turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed.
  10. Stir well.
  11. Cook about 5 minutes and stir.
