El Dorado
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- chopped onion
- garlic salt
- 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 can sliced black olives
- 1/2 pt. sour cream
- 1/2 pt. cottage cheese
- 1 small can diced Ortega chilies
- 1 (8 oz.) bag tortilla chips, crushed
- 1 (8 oz.) Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeno peppers
- Brown ground beef, onion and salt in a skillet.
- Add the tomato sauce and black olives.
- Remove from heat.
- In separate bowl, mix the sour cream, cottage cheese and chilies.
- Layer in a 9 x 13-inch casserole in the following order:
- 1/2 chips, 1/2 meat mixture, 1/2 cottage cheese/sour cream mixture and 1/2 cheese.
- Repeat layers. Bake in 350u0b0 oven for about 35 minutes.
