Pear Mincemeat Pie
- 6 1/2 pounds pears, peeled, cored, and cubed
- Grated rind of 1 large orange
- Grated rind of 1 large lemon
- Juice of 1 large orange
- Juice of 1 large lemon
- 1 large cooking apple, peeled, cored, and cubed
- 6 cups sugar
- 1 (15-ounce) package raisins
- 1 cup grape juice
- 2/3 cup vinegar
- 2 teaspoons ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons ground mace
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 unbaked (9-inch) pastry shells
- Combine all ingredients, except pastry shells, in a non-aluminum stock pot; bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, over low heat 2 hours or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Pour 4 cups filling into each pastry shell. Bake at 425u0b0 for 40 minutes. Cool before slicing.
