Shish-K-Bobs

  1. Tenderize meat by pounding with edge of saucer or using prepared tenderizer such as Lawry's.
  2. Scrub vegetables and slice into about 1/4-inch slices.
  3. Leave okra whole.
  4. Alternate meat cubes with vegetables on bamboo skewers.
  5. Amounts of vegetables are determined by your family's likes and dislikes.
  6. Place skewers into two 8 x 11-inch greased baking dishes.
  7. Three skewers will fit into each dish.
  8. Dot with butter.
  9. Salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Pour 1/2 canned tomatoes into each dish.
  11. Place 1/2 bottle liquid smoke over each dish.
  12. Cover with foil and bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
  13. This dish can be prepared ahead and baked later in the day.
  14. Serve with salad and bread for a complete meal.
