Mock Steak(Serves 10 People)
- 3 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp. onion salt
- 2 small cans cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cans tap water
- 1 envelope Lipton dried onion soup mix
- Mix meat, flour and seasonings by hand.
- Shape into long loaf pan or individual rounds.
- Wrap in foil and place in refrigerator 2 to 3 hours or overnight.
- When ready to cook the loaf, prepare heavy-duty skillet with 3 tablespoons melted shortening.
- Slice meat 1/2-inch thick and shape into steak like pieces.
- Brown in skillet on both sides.
- Remove slices to a large baking dish. Prepare sauce by mixing onion soup mix, mushroom soup and 2 cans of water.
- Pour over meat; cover with foil.
- Bake 1 hour at 350u0b0. Serves 10 people.
