Lite Bananas Foster
- 1 tablespoon trans-fat free margarine
- 1 tablespoon sucralose sweetener and brown sugar blend
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Spice Islands(R) Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 teaspoons Spice Islands Ground Saigon Cinnamon
- pinch Spice Islands Ground Nutmeg
- 3 firm, ripe, 7- to 8-inch bananas, peeled, halved and sliced lengthwise
- 1/4 cup Karo(R) Lite Syrup
- 1 tablespoon rum or banana liquor, optional
- Vanilla ice cream
- margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar blend, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- lite syrup when mixture begins to bubble; gently stir in bananas. Cook bananas for about 1 minute per side until hot. Remove from heat and add rum, if desired. Serve immediately over ice cream. Nutrition tip: Look for a sugar-free or reduced-fat ice cream.
