French Apple Pastry(Bake 30 To 35 Minutes)
- 1 pkg pie crust (2 crust)
- 1 c toasted walnuts, finely grated
- 5 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 medium red baking apples
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 c apricot preserves
- vanilla ice cream, optional
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Chop walnuts, add 3 Tbsp sugar and flour.
- Mix well.
- Unfold 1 pie crust and lightly rub with water.
- Unfold 2nd pie crust and place over 1st crust forming a border.
- Spread walnut mixture.
- Evenly slice apples leaving the peel on.
- Cut slices in half.
- Arrange overlapping.
- Combine cinnamon and 2 Tbsp sugar and sprinkle on apples.
- Bake until crust is golden brown.
- Microwave apricots preserves on high for 30 seconds of until melted.
- Brush over apples and crust.
