Peachie Cinnamon Whirligigs

  1. Heat oven to 425u0b0.
  2. Combine peaches (with syrup) and cornstarch in saucepan.
  3. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until mixture thickens and boils.
  4. Boil and stir 1 minute.
  5. Keep hot, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir baking mix, 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons melted butter and the milk to a soft dough.
  7. Gently smooth dough into a ball on well-floured cloth covered board. Knead 8 to 10 times.
  8. Roll dough into 9-inch square, spread with 2 tablespoons butter.
  9. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon, sprinkle over square.
  10. Roll up, seal well by pinching edge of dough into roll.
  11. Pour peach mixture into square pan (8 x 8 x 2-inch).
  12. Cut roll into 1-inch slices.
  13. Place slices cut side up on hot peach mixture.
  14. Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
  15. Serve warm and if you like with cream.
  16. Yields 9 servings.
