Granola 'N Oats

  1. Measure rolled oats into an 8 x 12-inch microwavable dish. Microwave on High for 2 1/2 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking time.
  2. Stir next 6 ingredients into rolled oats.
  3. Place margarine in 1-cup glass measure.
  4. Microwave on High until melted (40 to 60 seconds).
  5. Combine margarine, honey and vanilla; pour over oatmeal mixture, stirring until completely combined. Microwave on Medium on 50% power until well heated, 7 to 8 minutes, stirring twice during cooking time.
  6. Stir in fruit bits, if desired.
  7. Press mixture firmly again bottom of dish with back of spoon.
  8. Allow to cool; break apart with fork.
  9. Store, tightly covered, for up to 1 week.
  10. (Recipe tested on 500 to 700 watt microwave oven).
  11. Makes 5 cups.
