Steak Soup

  1. Melt butter in pot.
  2. Brown meat and pour off excess grease. Add flour to butter and make a roux.
  3. Add water.
  4. Stir with wire whip until a paste appears.
  5. Add celery, onion and mixed vegetables and bring to a boil.
  6. When vegetables are 1/2 finished, add remaining spices and fill pot with water and bring to a second boil.
  7. When it boils, reduce heat and keep at a low temperature until it thickens.
