Ham Steak With Pineapple Salsa

  1. Drain pineapple, reserving juice. Combine pineapple, 2 tablespoons pineapple juice, green onions, and next 4 ingredients in a bowl; stir well.
  2. Prepare grill.
  3. Coat grill rack with cooking spray; place on grill over medium-hot coals (350u0b0 to 400u0b0). Place ham steak on rack, and grill, uncovered, about 4 minutes on each side, basting often with remaining pineapple juice. Serve ham steak with pineapple salsa.
  4. Note: The American Heart Association says it's okay to have up to 2,400 milligrams of sodium per day (unless your doctor has put you on a strict low-sodium diet). If you eat three meals a day, that works out to about 800 milligrams of sodium per meal. So you can have a serving of Ham Steak with Pineapple Salsa (563 milligrams sodium) and stay within the guidelines--just be sure to watch the sodium content of other foods you eat during the day.
