Layered Peeps Crispy Treats
- 4 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
- 4, 3-ounce packages Marshmallow Peeps, in four different colors
- 6 cups crispy rice cereal, divided
- Cooking spray
- Grease 1, 8-9" loaf pan with cooking spray.
- In a medium-sized microwaveable dish, microwave 10 Peeps of the same color with 1 tablespoon of butter on high for 1 minute. Immediately stir together until smooth. (*Spraying a spatula with cooking spray will help the mixture not to stick.)
- Stir in 1 1/2 cups of cereal until fully coated. Press mixture evenly into the bottom of the loaf pan.
- Repeat steps 2-3 with the next three layers, pressing each colored mixture firmly and evenly on top of the previous layer. Cool completely, around 1-2 hours, before slicing. Cut 1-inch think slices widthwise, and then cut the slices in half. Serve on a cake stand or insert a cake pop stick into the bottom of each treat to make cereal pop treats. Display pops in a jar or candle votive holder stuffed with Styrofoam.
