Cookie Owls

• 2/3 c. shortening, soft
• 1 c. brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 c. creamy peanut butter
• 1 1/3 c. flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 c. oatmeal
• 1 (1 oz.) envelope no-melt chocolate
• whole cashews
• semi-sweet chocolate chips

1. Combine shortening
2. and sugar;teat until creamy.
3. Add egg, vanilla and
4. peanut butter.
5. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in oatmeal.
6. Divide dough in half.
7. Shape one half to form an 8-inch
8. roll.
9. Add
10. chocolate
11. melt
12. to
13. remaining dough.toll out
14. chocolate
15. dough
16. on
17. waxed paper to form an 8-inch square. Place roll on chocolate dough.
18. Wrap chocolate dough around roll. Pinch seams together; wrap in waxed paper. Chill.
