Bourbon Balls
- 6 Tbsp. cocoa
- 3/4 to 1 c. bourbon (Maker's Mark, Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey or any smooth bourbon)
- 3 c. finely chopped pecans
- 3 c. powdered sugar
- 6 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 6 c. finely crushed vanilla wafers (can use blender or food processor)
- Sift cocoa and powdered sugar into a bowl.
- Stir in bourbon which has been combined with syrup; mix well.
- Add crumbs and nuts; mix well again.
- Roll into small balls about 3/4 inch in diameter.
- Drop into a bowl of powdered sugar; roll around to coat on all sides.
- Allow to dry several hours before using.
- These may be prepared ahead of time and will freeze well.
- Keep in airtight container.
- Before serving, put an additional small amount of powdered sugar into container and shake.
- Makes 9 dozen.
