Dog Biscuits
- 3 1/2 c. white flour
- 2 c. cracked wheat
- 1/2 c. dry milk
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 c. beef broth
- 3 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 c. yellow corn meal
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 egg with 1 tsp. water
- Mix flours together with dry milk and salt.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and let proof 5 minutes.
- Gradually beat into flour mixture along with beef broth.
- Will be stiff and hard to mix (may need to use your hands).
- Let rest 5 minutes, roll out to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out dog biscuit shapes.
- Place on well-greased cookie sheet.
- Brush with egg glaze.
- Bake 45 minutes at 300u0b0; turn off heat leaving biscuits in oven overnight to harden.
- Store in airtight container.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon garlic or 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese for gourmet dogs.
