Easy Light Bread

  1. In mixer bowl, mix first 4 ingredients; cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Combine mixtures; add egg and 2 cups flour.
  2. Beat well.
  3. Stir in remaining flour until combined.
  4. Let rise in warm place until double in bulk, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down; shape dough into loaf. Place in greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  6. Let rise in warm place, about 1 hour.
  7. Bake in preheated 425u0b0 gas oven 25 to 30 minutes. If top of loaf browns too fast, cover loosely with foil during last 15 minutes of baking.
  8. Yield:
  9. 1 loaf.
