Strawberry Salad Supreme
- 1 c. reconstituted frozen lemonade
- 1/4 c. maraschino cherry liquid
- 8 maraschino cherries, cut in halves
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
- 2 c. ginger ale
- 3/4 c. Cool Whip
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 c. slivered almonds
- Sprinkle gelatin over lemonade in small saucepan to soften. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until gelatin is dissolved.
- Pour into large bowl; add ginger ale, Cool Whip, maraschino cherry liquid and salt.
- Beat until smooth.
- Chill until mixture has the consistency of unbeaten egg whites.
- Fold in strawberries, almonds and cherries.
- Pour into 5-cup crown mold and refrigerate until firm.
- Empty mold contents on serving plate. Garnish as desired.
- Serves 6 to 8.
