Year Round Broccoli Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. For Sauce:
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons butter. Blend in flour, salt and cian pepper.
  4. Gradually add milk; simmer and stir until thick.
  5. Stir in cream cheese until smooth.
  6. In 1/2-quart casserole dish, place broccoli and pearl onions.
  7. Pour in sauce; mix lightly.
  8. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake, covered, 15 minutes.
  10. Then cut remaining butter in hunks.
  11. Lay on top and sprinkle top with bread crumbs.
  12. Bake, uncovered, 15 minutes longer.
