French Cherry Dessert
- 3 egg whites
- 1 c. sugar
- 20 unsalted crackers, crushed
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. finely chopped nuts
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pkg. Dream Whip
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- Beat egg whites until foamy.
- Gradually add sugar.
- Beat until stiff peaks form.
- Add crushed crackers, baking powder, vinegar, vanilla and nuts to egg white mixture.
- Spread into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Set aside to cool.
- Combine cream cheese, confectioners sugar and vanilla. Prepare Dream Whip according to directions on package.
- Fold into cream cheese mixture.
- Spread over cooled egg white mixture. Spread cherry pie filling over cream cheese mixture.
- Chill 2 to 3 hours before serving.
