Ham And Cheese(Appetizers)
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. minced ham, packed
- 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar, packed
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon style mustard
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt.
- Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Stir in the ham and cheese.
- Combine the milk and mustard. Stir into the mixture.
- Quickly mix to a dough.
- Add a little extra flour if dough is too sticky.
- Pat out onto a lightly floured board, making the dough 1/2-inch thick.
- Cut biscuits with a 2-inch cutter or a small glass.
- Place on a lightly buttered baking sheet. Bake at 450u0b0 for about 12 minutes until golden.
- Serve hot from the oven or reheat before serving.
- Makes 24 small biscuits.
