Grandmom Schuler'S German Peach Cake
- 2 c. flour
- 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 5 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. milk
- cinnamon and sugar
- ripe fruit slices (peaches, plums or apples)
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, margarine and milk to make a sweet dough. Grease cookie sheets or baking pans with margarine. Spread dough 1/4 to 1/2-inch thin across pan (dip fingers in milk to help spread dough and keep it from sticking to fingers). Make rows of fruit, covering all of the pan. Sprinkle with a good amount of cinnamon and sugar, then add dots of butter all around the cake. Bake at 375u0b0 approximately 1/2 hour or until you can lift up the edge of the dough.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
