Italian Skillet Supper
- 1 lb. ground meat
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1/3 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 1/2 c. quick oats (uncooked)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Mozzarella cheese
- Brown ground meat, onion and pepper in a 10-inch skillet; drain.
- Combine oats and egg in bowl and mix until oats are coated.
- Add oats to meat mixture; cook over medium heat about 3 minutes or until oats are dry, separated and lightly browned, stirring constantly.
- Add combined tomato sauce, water, seasoned salt, pepper, garlic salt and oregano; continue cooking for 5 minutes or until liquid evaporates, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with cheese.
- Cover and cook 2 to 3 minutes until cheese is melted.
