Italian Macaroni And Cheese

  1. Cook meat in frying pan until it loses red color; drain.
  2. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, onion and seasonings.
  3. Simmer slowly for 30 minutes; stir as needed.
  4. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
  5. Cook macaroni in boiling water following package directions.
  6. Drain.
  7. Combine macaroni and cottage cheese.
  8. Pour a little meat mixture in bottom of 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  9. Top with half of macaroni mixture; half the Cheddar cheese and half the meat mixture.
  10. Repeat layers. Sprinkle Parmesan on top and bake for 40 minutes or until well heated.
  11. Remove from oven and serve.
  12. Yields 6 servings.
