Slice Of Summer
- 1 bag SNICKERS(R) Brand Miniatures, chopped
- 1 bag M&M'S(R) Brand Milk Chocolate Candies
- 1 18.25 box classic yellow cake mix
- 2 16-oz. cans vanilla frosting
- Red and green food coloring
- Resealable plastic bags
- Thin brush or toothpick
- 1 2 1/2-quart ovenproof bowl(s)
- Prep time: 20 min.
- Baking time: 50-55 min.
- Decoration time: 20 min.
- Prepare yellow cake mix according to package directions.
- Add chopped SNICKERS(R) Brand Miniatures to batter before transferring to a 2 1/2-quart bowl. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 50 to 55 minutes. Remove and cool completely.
- Cut the cake in half, into two wedges.
- To decorate the cake like a watermelon: Spoon a 1/2 can of vanilla frosting into a resealable plastic bag. Snip the corner and set aside. Tint the rest of the can of frosting red and set aside. Tint the second can of frosting green and set aside.
- Spread the outside curves of the cake with green tinted frosting, and the inside wedges with red tinted frosting.
- Select brown M&M'S(R) Brand Milk Chocolate Candies. Using them for seeds, press them onto the red frosted part of the cake. Pipe a line of vanilla frosting along the edge, between the red frosting and the green frosting.
- With a thin brush or toothpick, brush some green food coloring along the top of the green frosting for more "rind" effect.
- FUN SUBSTITUTE: Try POP'ABLES(R) SNICKERS(R) Brand Bite Size Candies, chopped, instead of SNICKERS(R) Brand Miniatures in Step
