Macaroni Meat Loaf
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. short cut elbow macaroni
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. heavy cream
- 3 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 1/2 c. prepared bread stuffing
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- Cook macaroni as directed; drain.
- Melt butter in saucepan; blend in flour, 3/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Gradually add milk and cream.
- Cook over low heat.
- Stir constantly until thickened.
- Add cheese; stir until melted.
- Mix macaroni with cheese sauce.
- Mix together egg, stuffing, beef and remaining salt and pepper.
- Spread on bottom of 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Cover with macaroni mixture.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 35 minutes.
- Serves 6.
