- 1/4 cup fat-free cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon shredded fresh basil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 4 (3/4-ounce) slices reduced-calorie whole wheat bread, toasted
- 6 ounces cooked turkey breast, sliced
- 1/2 medium avocado, thinly sliced
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/4 cup alfalfa sprouts
- Combine first 6 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well. Spread cheese mixture evenly on 2 bread slices. Top evenly with sliced turkey and remaining 4 ingredients. Top with remaining 2 bread slices.
- Tip: Avocados are a great source of monounsaturated fat--a type of fat that appears to help prevent heart disease.
