Chocolate Pinwheels

  1. Sift flour once; measure.
  2. Add baking powder and salt and sift again.
  3. Cream shortening; add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg and milk and beat well.
  5. Add flour, small amount at a time, mixing well after each addition. Divide dough into 2 parts.
  6. To one part, add chocolate and blend. Roll each on floured wax paper into rectangular shape 1/8-inch thick.
  7. Lay plain sheet over chocolate sheet.
  8. Remove wax paper. Roll like jelly roll.
  9. Chill until firm.
  10. Cut into 1/8-inch slices. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375u0b0 for 10 minutes or until done.
