Choc Caramel Nut Bars

  1. Melt caramels and 1/3 cup of the evaporated milk, stirring, over low heat until smooth.
  2. Combine remaining milk, cake mix and margarine.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Press 1/2 of the cake mixture in the bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 350u0b0 for 6 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup walnuts and the chocolate chips over crust.
  7. Top with caramel mixture, spreading to edges of pan.
  8. Top with teaspoonfuls of the remaining cake mixture.
  9. Press gently.
  10. Sprinkle remaining nuts. Press gently.
  11. Bake at 350u0b0 for 20 minutes.
  12. Cool and cut into bars or refrigerate.
