Hunter'S Beef

  1. Cut meat into 4 to 6 serving size pieces (trim away fat). Combine flour, salt and pepper.
  2. With a mallet, pound seasoned flour into meat.
  3. Heat oil in wide frying pan on medium heat.
  4. Add meat.
  5. Brown well on both sides.
  6. Scatter mushrooms and 2/3 of onions over meat.
  7. Combine wine, soy sauce, ginger, cinnamon and red pepper in a cup.
  8. Pour over meat.
  9. Bring to a simmer.
  10. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  11. Scatter remaining onions over meat.
  12. Cook, covered, for 5 minutes.
  13. To serve, spoon vegetables and sauce over meat.
