Chili Supreme
- 1 c. pinto beans
- 5 c. tomatoes
- 3 or 4 chopped green peppers
- 4 c. chopped onions
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. salad oil
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 c. chopped parsley
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 2 1/2 lb. ground chuck
- 1 lb. ground lean pork
- 1 small can chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp. cumin seed
- 1 1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate
- Combine cooked beans and tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes. Saute green peppers in salad oil for 5 minutes.
- Add onions; cook until tender, stirring often.
- Add garlic and parsley; melt butter and saute meat for 15 minutes.
- Add meat to onion mixture; stir in chili powder and cook 10 minutes.
- Add this to beans and then add spices.
- Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
- Skim fat off top.
- Flavor will improve if set in refrigerator overnight.
- May be frozen indefinitely.
