Shrimp, Chicken Gumbo

  1. Boil and debone chicken.
  2. Use
  3. the
  4. broth to start your gumbo. Put chicken back
  5. into
  6. broth
  7. and
  8. then add tomatoes, celery, onion,
  9. green onions and bell peppers.
  10. (Cook celery, onions
  11. and bell
  12. peppers in a little butter before adding to chicken
  13. broth until
  14. tender.)
  15. Add okra, bay leaves, parsley flakes,
  16. thyme, red pepper, garlic salt and flour.
  17. (Put flour in
  18. skillet and brown until real dark, almost black.) Salt and pepper to taste.
  19. Cook until almost done, then add the shrimp. Serve over cooked rice.
