O.T. Appetizer
- 1/2 c. chopped black olives (1 small can)
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 3/4 c. grated sharp cheese
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- dash of Tabasco sauce
- dash of Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper
- party rye bread
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, egg yolk, mustard, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the olives, onion and cheese.
- Pour sauce on top; mix until blended.
- (Mixture can be made a day ahead and refrigerated. Just stir before spreading.)
- Put squares of rye bread on a cookie sheet and run under the broiler of your oven until lightly toasted.
- Remove from oven; turn them over.
- Spread vegetable-cheese mixture on top of bread to the edge so bread won't burn.
- Return to broiler (about 3 minutes) until cheese is somewhat melted and bubbly.
- Serve.
