Carol Sparks' Sausage Bread
- 1 (13 oz.) pkg. hot roll mix
- 1 1/2 lb. hot sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes (dried)
- dash of Tabasco sauce
- dash of salt
- Mix hot roll mix according to package instructions.
- Cover and set aside for use later.
- Brown sausage on low heat for 5 minutes. Drain well; chunk sausage into very small pieces and add chopped onion.
- Continue to cook on low heat until sausage is almost done. Drain again and add cheeses, parsley flakes, salt and Tabasco sauce.
- Cook for one minute; add beaten eggs and cook for another minute.
- Turn off heat and set aside.
- Roll dough mixture (on floured surface) into a large round thin circle.
- Place sausage mixture in center of circle.
- Fold dough over sausage mixture to form a crescent shape.
- Brush with melted butter and bake for 25 to 30 minutes in a preheated 350u0b0 oven.
- Brush bread with melted butter when removed from oven.
