Tennie'S Fig Cake

  1. Preheat oven
  2. to
  3. 325u0b0.
  4. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Cream
  5. margarine
  6. and
  7. sugar
  8. until light and fluffy; add eggs, 1 at
  9. a
  10. time.
  11. Beat
  12. well.
  13. Add
  14. vanilla.
  15. Sift
  16. flour, cinnamon, allspice, salt and soda.
  17. Add alternately to creamed mixture with buttermilk, saving a small amount of flour mixture to dredge pecans
  18. in.
  19. Cut up the fig preserves and add to the mixture.
  20. Add pecans.
  21. Bake at 325u0b0 in a prepared tube pan for 1 hour, then at 300u0b0 for 15 minutes.
