Italian Cheese Noodle Casserole

  3. Preheat oven to 375F. Spray 13- x 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray; set aside. Cook noodles according to package directions.
  4. Cook beef and onions in large skillet over medium-high heat until crumbled and no longer pink, about 5 minutes, while the noodles are cooking. Stir in puree, basil, garlic powder and oregano. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain noodles. Layer 1/2 each in prepared baking dish: meat sauce, cooked noodles, cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layering.
  5. Bake, covered, 30 minutes. Remove cover and continue baking 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Allow to rest 5 minutes before cutting into 8 squares to serve.
