Broccoli Baked With Cheese Sauce
- 2 pounds fresh broccoli, cleaned and cooked
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon ground marjoram
- 1/4 cup (1 ounce) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- Place broccoli in a 12- x 8- x 2-inch baking dish. Saute onion in butter; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Add Parmesan cheese, salt, mustard, pepper, paprika, and marjoram; stir until cheese melts. Spoon sauce over broccoli; bake at 375u0b0 for 15 minutes. Sprinkle Cheddar cheese over top; bake 5 minutes.
