Vegetable Soup

  1. Combine bacon, celery and onion in a 5-quart casserole. Microwave on High until bacon is crisp and vegetables are tender, 4 to 6 minutes.
  2. Add potatoes, carrots and 1/4 cup water.
  3. Cover and microwave on High until potatoes are tender, 12 to 15 minutes, stirring after half the cooking time.
  4. Blend in flour.
  5. Stir in vegetable juice, water, peas, salt and pepper.
  6. Cover and microwave on High until soup is thickened and peas are heated through, 8 to 10 minutes.
  7. If using oven other than Sharp Carousel, stir after half the cooking time.
