Lasagna
- 1 lb. sweet or hot sausage
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seed
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. chopped parsley
- 1 qt. canned tomatoes
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 1/2 c. water
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 (15 oz.) container Ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 lb. Mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- Combine Ricotta cheese, egg, remaining parsley and salt.
- In bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan, spoon 1 1/2 cups sauce.
- Layer with noodles.
- Spread with 1/2 Ricotta mixture.
- Top with 1/3 Mozzarella cheese.
- Spoon sauce over cheese.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Repeat layering.
- Cover with foil.
- Bake 25 minutes.
- Remove foil.
- Bake 25 minutes longer.
