Peanut Blossoms
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. peanut butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 pkg. chocolate candy kisses (I use Hershey miniature kisses)
- Cream shortening and peanut butter; add sugar and beat well. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until fluffy.
- Sift flour, measure; add salt, soda and baking powder; sift again.
- Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Chill in refrigerator.
- (I don't always do this.)
- Shape dough into balls 1 inch in diameter. (I use the small Pampered Chef scoop.)
- Place 2-3 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 8 minutes.temove and press a chocolate kiss in center of each cookie.
- Return to oven and bake for 4 minutes more.
- Makes 7 dozen.
