Apple And Onion Stuffing
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. ground sage
- 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 tsp. vegetable broth mix
- 1 Granny Smith apple, unpeeled and chopped
- 6 slices whole wheat bread, cubed
- 1/2 c. water
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion, celery and garlic.
- Saute until tender. Remove from heat and sprinkle spices and broth mix over onion mixture.
- Stir to blend. Add apple and bread cubes. Toss stuffing, adding water gradually until bread is just moistened. Add more water, if a moister stuffing is desired.
- Place in a lightly oiled 1-quart baking dish. Cover and bake 30 minutes.
