Always Good Casserole
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 green pepper, cut in strips
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- pinch of oregano
- 1 (1 lb.) can whole tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 c. water
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. wide noodles (uncooked)
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- Saute onion, green pepper and butter.
- Add meat and lightly brown until meat is no longer pink.
- Add seasonings.
- Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce and water.
- Heat mixture to boiling.
- Put in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Layer like lasagne.
- Place tomato sauce, meat mixture first, next uncooked noodles, then tomato sauce-meat and noodles (be sure noodles are well covered by sauce).
- Top with Mozzarella cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake in preheated 350u0b0 oven for 1 hour.
- Let set 10 minutes before cutting.
- Serves 10.
