Sausage Rolls
- 3/4 lb. Italian sausage (hot, sweet or both)
- 1/2 c. apple juice
- 1/4 c. Romano cheese
- 2 tsp. parsley flakes
- 1/4 tsp. oregano, crumbled
- 1 lb. frozen bread dough (1 loaf)
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
- heated spaghetti sauce (to pour over rolls before eating)
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Grease a large cookie sheet.
- Remove meat from casings.
- Brown meat in large skillet, stirring to break into small pieces.
- Drain off fat.
- Pour in juice.
- Cover.
- Simmer 15 minutes.
- Drain off liquid.
- Stir in cheese, parsley and oregano.
- Remove from heat.
- Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 16 x 6-inch rectangle.
- Brush with half the melted butter.
- Sprinkle sausage mixture over dough.
- Roll up from long end jelly roll fashion.
- Pinch lightly along long seam to seal. Cut crosswise in 8 equal pieces.
- Pinch ends tightly to seal. Brush rolls with melted butter.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
