Barbecued Spareribs
- 1 Tbsp. ground mustard
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 3 lb. pork spareribs
- 2/3 c. ketchup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. liquid smoke, optional
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- Combine mustard, chili powder, cayenne pepper and garlic powder; rub over ribs.
- For sauce, combine the remaining ingredients; mix well and set aside.
- Grill ribs, covered, over indirect heat and medium low coals for 1 hour or until tender, turning occasionally.
- Baste with sauce during cooking, if desired.
- Heat the remainder of the sauce, and serve with ribs.
