Oysters Internationale

  1. Spread butter on bread.
  2. Place in a 250u0b0 oven until hard (not brown).
  3. Grease flat baking dish with bacon fat.
  4. Crush bread; place about 2/3 on bottom of dish.
  5. Make a layer of oysters on top of crumbs.
  6. Place onion rings on top of oysters.
  7. Cover with remaining crumbs.
  8. Take oyster liquid and add milk to make 1 1/2 cups.
  9. Add Worcestershire sauce, wine, salt, pepper and garlic salt; stir well.
  10. Pour over bread just to moisten.
  11. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  12. Cut bacon in 1-inch strips.
  13. Place on cheese. Bake at 325u0b0 for 40 minutes and under broiler for 3 minutes.
