Pasta And Cheese
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 chopped onions
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 large jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 can stewed tomatoes
- 1 can mushrooms
- salt and pepper
- 1 1/2 pt. sour cream
- Provolone cheese, cut thin
- Mozzarella slices
- macaroni (shells, spirals)
- Brown ground beef in large frying pan; add onion and garlic and cook until onions are limp.
- Add spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, mushrooms, salt and pepper.
- Simmer 20 minutes.
- Cook 1 pound macaroni.
- Put 1/2 in casserole; spread meat mixture over top, then a layer of sour cream over that and then thin Provolone cheese slices.
- Add rest of macaroni, meat, sour cream and Mozzarella slices on top.
- Cover and bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes. Remove cover towards end of baking time to melt and brown cheese. Double recipe to make 2 casseroles and freeze one.
