Strawberry Pie

  1. Make a glaze by adding sugar, strawberry flavoring and food color to boiling water in a saucepan.
  2. Add dissolved cornstarch and stir over medium heat until thickened.
  3. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add cool prepared Pastry Cream to the bottom of the pie shell.
  5. Pour in half pint of strawberries.
  6. Cover with half of the glaze and add remaining strawberries, covering with glaze.
  7. Decorate the edges with whipped cream.
  8. Sprinkle with almonds.
  9. Chill and serve.
