Jenna'S Favorite Homemade Graham Crackers

  1. Place whole wheat flour in bowl.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture is the consistency of coarse oatmeal.
  3. Add sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar, egg and enough hot water to make a dough that can be rolled like pastry.
  4. Roll out dough to 1/8 to 1/4-inch consistency on floured board (use unbleached white flour for rolling).
  5. Cut into 3-inch squares.
  6. Place on ungreased baking sheet in a 350u0b0 preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until done.
  7. Cool on rack.
  8. Yields about 2 dozen crackers.
  9. Great served while warm.
