Chocolate Pound Cake
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. butter flavored shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- Beat butter and shortening until creamy.
- Gradually add sugar until well blended.
- Add eggs, one at a time.
- Stir in melted chocolate.
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa.
- Add to butter mixture alternately with milk.
- Mix until blended.
- Add pecans and flavorings.
- Spoon batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 1 hour and 35 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.
- May need to shield with aluminum foil last 10 minutes.
