Flama Kuchen(Plum Cake)
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. milk
- 3/4 c. melted butter
- 2 lb. Italian prune plums
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan. Pit and quarter plums.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In another bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Cream the melted butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and milk. Add dry ingredients.
- Mix to combine. Don't overmix. Dough is thick.
- Place evenly in floured cake pan.
- Lay plums in even rows on top of dough. Bake 45 minutes until cake springs back.
- Cool and serve.
